Celebrate Philippine National Heritage Month at a book reading and signing of Once Upon the Sun & Sea, a compliation of myths, indigenous stories and folk tales by co-authors Denise Orosa and Jo Tiongson-Perez.

Note: Signed copies must be pre-ordered for pick up on May 4 during the event. (Books will not be available for purchase at the Consulate.)

Art-making for all ages features an eagle mask making activity that introduces Banug, the name for eagle used by the Manobo, an Indigenous Philippine tribe. In addition to being the Philippine national bird, it’s also part of the epic story, “The Heron and the Eagle.”
